DLA: What’s up guys? Can you give the readers a little introduction if they are unfamiliar?
A.Dd+: What’s the business, mayne. I’m Paris Pershun (the short one), and I’m Slim Gravy (the tall one). We are from that north (nawf) side of Dallas, TX, and we go by A.Dd+.
DLA: Where did the name A.Dd+ come from, and what is the significance?
A.Dd+: Well, the name A.Dd+, pronounced like the disorder, is a play on words. My real name is Arrias and Slim’s real name is Dionte (or Dd), so we just played off the disorder and called ourselves A.Dd+. The plus sign is silent, though. It’s symbolic for us being above and beyond what other people are on, always adding to the craft, never subtracting. So, the name’s not ADDplus, or A.Ddplus or none of the many other wrong shits people come up with. Twitter kinda fucked us by not letting us use symbols (haha), but now y’all know it’s AYE-DEE-DEE.
DLA: How would you describe your guys style?
Paris P: I cant, to be honest (haha).
Slim Gravy: Our style is like Outkast fused with UGK.
Paris P: Well, lots of people compare us to those two but I would like to say that I can’t pinpoint a certain sound we fall into. We are capable of damn near anything, so it’s kinda hard to put one stamp on our sound. All I can say is that we strive to make each song better than the one before and push the envelope with the production we choose, the way we write, the way we deliver, etc.

DLA: Hailing from Texas who are your guys’ influences?
Slim Gravy: Growing up, my musical influences were limited, but when I actually started getting into the flow of writing consistently, Outkast and Lupe Fiasco were my main influences as well as UGK, Diplomats, Jay-Z and Cee-Lo.
Paris P: I had many influences such as Outkast, Jay-Z, Nas, Ludacris, Three 6 Mafia. I’m into a lot of classic, old school music like Anita Baker and all that.
DLA: It’s obvious we are fans and full-on supporters of the greenery. Do you guys smoke?
Slim Gravy: Hellllll yeah.
Paris P: Hahahahaha, he does. I smoke every now and then, but I’m more of a drinker. E&J is my shit.
Slim Gravy: Shit, I smoke like a mufucka.
DLA: Thats what we like to hear. Top smoking story for each of you is…?
Slim Gravy: My top weed story would be best described in the song “Can’t Come Down”: http://addplus.bandcamp.com/track/cant-come-down. We are shooting a video for it for release this summer. All I can say about it is that it’s gonna freak the fuck outta you and me.

“Can’t Come Down”
Paris P: My story is from a few months ago. This shows how much I don’t smoke… I know there’s all kinds of strands of weed i.e. kush and all that other extravagant named stuff. My homeboy had a blunt; I seriously hit that hoe once and I was high for 24 hours, LITERALLY!! I was terrified (kinda). I felt like I was floating on everything. I don’t remember driving that night or laying down. But everything was funny as hell that night.
DLA: Haha sounds horrible P! Moving on, what artists are getting heavy rotation from you two on iTunes?
Paris P: I mainly listen to Jay-Z and old Outkast shit, old school R&B like Al Green and nem. Out of the newer acts, I jam Kendrick Lamar and Big K.R.I.T, and of course a lot of A.Dd+.
Slim Gravy: I listen to Kendrick Lamar, and I stay bumpin’ our shit.
DLA: What can we expect from A.Dd+ in the future?
Paris P: We’re still workin’ on our latest mixtape, When Pigs Fly that dropped late March 2011 and our compilation of non-album joints that we call “Loosies.” We haven’t officially announced this, but we have a couple of tours in the works for the first quarter of 2012. These are our first tours, so we’re like wuhdafuhshawty!!! We’ve also begun work on our next project titled The Plus Sign is Silent. So far, we have production from our in-house producer Picnictyme, Detroit’s Black Milk, Dallas’ own S1 (producer for Kanye West, Jay-Z, and Beyonce) and some other local guys that we’re diggin. That hoe’s gonna be nice, nice, nice… Make sure y’all stay glued to our website divehiflylo.com, because we’re gonna be announcing tour dates and all that very soon.
DLA: Cant wait! Any parting words?
Slim Gravy: Is H2O a liquid or a gas??
Paris: Go to addplus.bandcamp.com and download all of our music for the free! And tell ya homies it’s ADdHoe!
